An interview with Stephanie Booker about this year's AWESOME Easter Mass Food Giveaway.

Abigail: We’re talking with Stephanie Booker, founder of AHARI about an upcoming Easter Giveaway. Stephanie, can you first start off by telling us about AHARI and what drives you to host this event?

Stephanie: In March 2020, AHARI started picking up 20 food boxes from The Church of Christian Compassion and perishables from The Church of the Overcomers to serve our veterans population. By October of 2020, AHARI secured a partnership with Caring For Friends which has allowed AHARI to serve over 20,000 boxes of food! The gratitude and amazement on the faces of individuals we serve, compel me to continue serving those in need.

Abigail: What can we expect from this year’s Easter Giveaway?

Stephanie: AHARI is providing 250 Turkeys, 100 Easter Bags, PPE, vegetables, and more.

Abigail: When and where is the event?

Stephanie: This Saturday, April 3, 2021; 10:00 am – until gone. Mercy Fitzgerald Parking Lot • 1501 Lansdowne Avenue • Darby, PA 19023 - contactless driving, social distancing, and wear your mask.

Abigail: AHARI has been orchestrating massive food distributions even during a pandemic. How are these events made possible?

Stephanie: AHARI is able to make these distributions possible with our partners, our volunteers, and donors Caring For Friends - Good360 - Walmart - Hanes - Bjs - Costco - ShopRite!

ABIGAIL FERGUSON

Bringing you sunshine from Nassau, Bahamas, meet Abigail Ferguson—our E-mail Marketing and Web Developer Apprentice. When she is not problem-solving, enjoying great food and music are her favourite pastimes. In search of expanding her professional skills, digital marketing presented itself as a perfect complement to her current profession as a Web Developer. Abigail expressed interest in AHARI because of their passion for helping those in need which resonates with her values. She is not only grateful for the learning opportunity but hopes to increase her knowledge and apply effective strategies in AHARI’s initiative to raise awareness and facilitate action!

ARSHEEN CHOPRA

Meet Arsheen Chopra, the Social Media Marketing Apprentice based in Toronto Canada. She shares, “Working at AHARI is one the opportunities I was seeking, especially under the mentorship of Stephanie and Jacqueline. It is giving me the opportunity to contribute to AHARI’s vision as a marketer while still giving me a chance to give back to the society.” When Arsheen is not helping the cause, she finds interest in photography, miniature art and exploring new places and opportunities. Arsheen has spent over 3 years as a marketer in both the Indian and Canadian markets. While growing in her professional experience she also has utilized her skills to volunteer as a digital marketer for her university in India, helping raise funds for events that bring awareness to social causes. Arsheen admires insights on how to adapt to various markets and teams, make effective decisions and how to use research to create and shape strategies.

Chakylla Penn

Meet Chakylla Penn, the Public Relations Apprentice based in Los Angeles California. Since a young child she has always had a soft spot for helping others so when discovering AHARI it was an instant spark. Chakylla has many different interests such as Attending the legendary LA car shows and listening to music. Some of her favorite artists are Brent Faiyaz and Giveon just to name a few. Chakylla is currently studying as a Communications major at a local college in California. She states, “Discovering AHARI has been a blessing in disguise and an amazing opportunity that everyone should be aware of to help make a change for those we love. The severity of mental illness and poverty is at an all-time high. I'm willing to do any and everything possible to help the cause.”
